I Had to Work, and Still Had a Great Weekend!

I thought that this weekend was going to be just awful, but a new swim suit, a night out just for girls and a mid-night swim with the husband makes a fabulous weekend!

Two funerals Saturday and we thought we would be planning and preparing for the 3rd, but the family decided to wait until Monday to plan that funeral. Nicole (life-saver in disguise #2, there is a #1, I'll get to her in a minute) came for the weekend so that we could go to Memphis while the girls stayed with their grandparents...ended up sitting with the girls all day Saturday for me. She made the girls omelets, toasted sandwiches, tuna fish, and cookies, let them swim, Philip (nephew) got to come over and swim, arranged my cabinet with all my canned good and junk, AND she washed the dishes that they used. Just so that none of you get any bright ideas....Nicole is not for sale, she is mine. She's not allowed to come to your house. I won't let her!

We finally headed to Memphis around 4PM, made it to Watson's Pool to use my in-store credit. While I was there and I asked for Brett the man who sold me the pool so that I could tell him about the intelligent life forms that put up my pool. I asked him for some extra in-store credit since we had problems with the ladder, the pump did not come with all the IMPORTANT parts and that it took a week to get said IMPORTANT parts, that week included the service man coming to the house with the parts and forgetting to leave the parts. Anyway, Brett was very nice, went to the manager, asked for the credit and gave me another $50...that made my total of $200 in-store credit~hello that's what I'm talking about.

Nicole and I ate at TGFI Friday's, it was good and I was starving! Then we hit the Wolfchase Mall. I have to been inside that mall since 2006. The only thing that has changed was the prices of everything. Tell me, who needs to swim in a bathing suit that cost $120? This particular bathing suit did not perform miracles. I found some really nice swim trunks for Tim at Aeropostale, clearanced.

The biggest purchase I made was ............drum roll please......I GOT A NEW SWIM SUIT!!!!! This is a big deal at my house. I haven't purchased a new swimsuit for myself in 6 years. The old suit, the elastic was crumbling and it was possible that it was becoming see through. I will post a picture of it tomorrow so that you can all ooo and ahhh over it with me. I now know why the girls get all excited about their 20,000 bathing suits and want to wear them all the time. I was so excited that when we got home from Memphis at 11PM and saw that Tim was in the pool, Nicole and I decided that we had to swim too.

Sunday, I talked to my dad and my little sister. Mr. Butler Bar-B-Q'ed ribs for Father's day and we just took it easy. The girls cleaned the funeral home for some summer spending money. We went home and swam a little and went to BED.

That was my weekend. Whew. Busy. Fun.

The Babysitting thing is going well. The house was clean all week and no major accidents took place. My #1 life saver is Dianne, another sister-in-law, she is keeping the girls on Tuesdays. I'm officially giving a SHOUT OUT to her for her help.

A few pictures from John in Iraq. For those who do not know: John is my nephew, he belongs to Tim's sister Angela. John might be able to come home in August for a brief visit. He said that there has been some talk that his group will be coming home for good in December...which would make his tour shorter than the 18 months he expected to be there.
