Friday was very very blah....
Saturday I had to work 1/2 day, picked up the girls from their maternal grandparents (that was fun, not). Saturday night got better...Tim, my husband, took me to Tunica Mississippi. We ate at Sam's Town, crablegs and steak, drove over to Fitzgerald's where Tim and I got lost from each other, the drove over to Bally's, where I watched the waitresses walk around is some SHORT REDNECK cocktail get up. Tim won some money, whoop whoop, I didn't. Of course, I only played the nickle machines...ha ha
Sunday I watched "What We Lost In The Fire" all by myself.

Cheesy Broccoli Soup SUCCESS!
The soup (yes I tried it) was great. I should warn you, it makes a lot of soup! I wanted potato soup for myself and I made it. We have lots of left over soup! Mary Margaret learned how to peel potatoes. She also learned how to use my ancient "whopper chopper". (I have not bought a food processor...just another appliance that takes up my limited counter/cabinet space) Mary Margaret thought it was fun. By the way, the "You are ruining my 13 year old life" child is BACK! We had a fun (not) night.

Cheesy Broccoli Soup

3 Potatoes, peeled
Large bag frozen broccoli, thawed
15 baby carrots
2 tablespoons chopped onion
Dice potatoes into small enough chunks to fit into a food chopper. Dice into small pieces and set aside. Do the same with the carrots and onion. Chop broccoli pieces into desired size with a large knife. Place all veggies in a covered pot of boiling water and let simmer until soft.
Sauce:
1/2 cup milk
4 C. milk
1/2 shredded cheddar
1/2 cup flour
1/2 lb velveeta cheese, cubed
1 tablespoon chicken flavored soup base
Melt butter in a large sauce pan and add flour until smooth. Add the milk and soup base, stirring continuously until thickened. Add velveeta cubes and cheddar, stiring until melted. Drain veggies, leaving about a 1/4 cup of water in pan. Add cheese sauce and stir well. Salt and pepper to taste. Enjoy!
I have to admit that I "borrowed" this from another blog...It just looked so good! I know my girls will love it!

Where is the real Mary Margaret Hiding?
Mary Margaret was unusally sweet last night. Where has my "You're ruining my 13 year old life" little girl gone? Not that I don't like the sweet Mary Margaret, but just makes me think...something is up! Mary Margaret sat in the Living Room with me all night watching TV...something she rarley does AND she offered to fold a load of clothes...SHE OFFERED!!!! I didn't have to spend 30 minutes begging...
I'm liking Ashlee the baby sitter...she may be a possible candidate for sharing the summer with Anna. She has TAYLOR working out.....I know, pick yourself up off the floor, that is a real SHOCKER!
The funeral business is still busy...I already know that I will be working at least 1/2 of Saturday...bummer
My best friend Dianna called this morning, they are leaving for Branson, Missouri, dirty dog! Don't you think that your friends should sacrifice and stay at home and be miserable with you?
I added another blog to my list... Good and Crazy People...this blog is fun and creative! I enjoy it hope you all do too.

Spring Break!!!!
Left to Right: Tim (My husband), Josh, Ashlee (baby sitter for the week) Mary Margaret
Do you remember how exciting it was to finally make it to spring break as a kid?
Spring Break as an adult means work and baby sitter. Ashlee Davidson is filling in for Anna this week. (Anna's gone to her grandmothers for a visit) It's only been one day of Ashlee, the house is still standing, the food did not vanish, and the girls were in fairly good moods! They played some of the board games (we have so many, they will not get to play them all this week), worked on their round off's, back bends, cartwheels, and watched movies. We rented Enchanted, The Seeker, and one with Reese Whiterspoon (I can't remember the name).
They loved enchanted...I thought that this was going to be a "goofy" movie. I was wrong. It was enchanting. Patrick Dempsy...need I say more. Honestly, a really good Disney movie. Susan Sarendon plays the "evil witch" and does a wonderful job.
The girls said that The Seeker was a little scary...I might get to watch it this afternoon...tonight is the night for all my favorites....ELMINIATION OF DANCING WITH THE STARS AND AMERICAN IDOL. Dinner at my house will have to be something fast and easy!
I need to send out to Luke Chapman (Ashley's son) CONGRATULATIONS...Grammy (Sandy) told me that you asked Jesus into your heart!!!

Camel Spider's in Iraq

Johnathon is in Kuwait now. He called Sunday while Angela was on her way home from the camping trip. (He does not have a mailing address yet)
She was telling us that one of the things she had heard about in Iraq was the "camel spider" that attacks the camels...she was telling us how big they were, so I looked them up...
Biggest spider I've ever seen! (I'm adding a picture that I found on the internet.)
John...keep a look out!

Put Down or Compliment?
I was stopped yesterday in Mazzio's Pizza at lunch by a gentleman and his wife. I know them from dealing with them at the Funeral Home. He says Hey Neighbor...(I know I'm not his neighbor, because...I live at Whitsburg...he lives in town..8 miles difference.) Anyway...his wife says to me....You've lost so much weight...what's your secret? I tell this couple...you have me mixed up with someone else...I'm not your neighbor and I'm not ****** *****...They were so embarrassed..
Put Down...who they thought I was...because I know this person...people are always getting us mixed up...she is not a nice person....and way way fatter than me.
Compliment...the wife thinks I lost weight!!!! Ha Ha
Today I was told again how embarrassing my obituaries are (by the same person twice). I hope that all of you who read the funeral home website, would let me know if I am doing something wrong...I write the obits just like all other funeral homes....ugh!!!!!

Mary Margaret
Mary Margaret did not make Wynne Junior High Cheerleader. She seems okay about it. I think she's more sad than she lets on. We had a big weekend with the birthday party, so I don't think it's really sunk in yet. Now she's going to try for Volley Ball...it never ends with her...

Taylor's Birthday Weekend!
Taylor turned 12 on Friday. She had a great little party. We went to Mazzios Pizza first and then to the movies to see "Horton Hears a Who". It was good. Taylor had a great time.
Taylor's Loot:
Pink Razr Phone from Kaye & Tim
Tomagotchia Stuff from Kaye & Tim

Jewelry from Julia
Money from Katie
Money from Lauren
Big Bag of Goodies from Aunt Dianne
High School Musical Learn the Dance Thingy from Dianne
Big Bag of Goodies from Nicole & Alyssa
Cute Shirt from Dianna, Taylor, Shelby and Paul
Money from Angela & Garrie

I think she did pretty good! We missed Dianna, Paul and their girls, Paul's daughter Jennifer got married this weekend and they couldn't make it. We missed Christin too, she was sick.
We had the family party on Sunday, everything went very nicely. We all were able to speak to John Bratton. He left Sunday for Iraq. He called every time he changed buses. He took a bus from the base to the Greyhound Station, (Hattiesburg Mississippi) to Atlanta Georgia, then a plane to Germany, where he will be for a few weeks and then to Kuwait and then on to Iraq. I'm not sure if he will get to check his email...for those of you who want the address, contact me and I'll send it to you. kayeb_1999@yahoo.com
Stay safe John! We love you!

Taylor and Gymnastics
Both girls started gymnastics yesterday. Mary Margaret did really well. Poor Taylor...she knocked over the coach while trying to learn a flip. Every time the coach turned his head, Taylor stopped working. Some of the exercises were knee slapping funny! Mary Margaret said that she felt like she was dieing this morning and that it hurt to even put on her shoes. Taylor was not suffering.
We are so busy at the Funeral Home.

Mary Margaret and Her Blonde Moments
Some of you know well how blonde Mary Margaret can be. She had a BIG blonde moment Monday night. It was storming and usually our lights go out during a storm...Mary Margaret was up front by herself, Taylor and I in the bedrooms...the lights go out. Mary Margaret screams....."Oh my gosh, what just happened?!?!?!" I think to myself, is she serious?...so trying to be funny I yell back to her "Mary Margaret, I think someone turned off the water!" She yells back...................................................................................................."Does the water make the lights work?"
This child will be allowed to take her driver's test next year....scary
Did I mention that she is trying out for cheerleading? I would like to point out that I did not discourage or encourage the cheerleading thing. She came home and announced that she had signed up to tryout. We went today to Dr. Jacobs to get her physical (nothing to that). I felt like I was signing my life away, signing all the permission's and rules and regulations. I believe I signed less paper work when we bought our house. Practice begins next week and the actual tryout is March 14 (on Taylor's Birthday). She loves this kind of stuff. I wish her LOTS OF LUCK!
This little adventure of Mary Margarets is going to cost out the wazoo...
Johnathon Update
Angela and Garrie left to take John back to Camp Shelby today. Yesterday I saw on the news that Camp Shelby was hit by a tornado. I haven't talked to any of them, hope they have a safe trip.

HERE'S TO SPRING AND WEEKENDS!!!!!!!
Mary Maragaret and John...he's trying his best to look MEAN.
Taylor and John. He's leaving for Iraq in a couple of weeks. This will be his last time home before he leaves. He too young to be going to Iraq. We had a big dinner with all John's favorites at the Butler's house.
The weekend was beautiful and way too fast! Saturday, 5 AM got up, washed and dryed 3 loads of clothes and washed every dish that I own (stetched a little, but really...these people I live with do not use the same glass twice! The dishwasher has thought about going on strike...just make more work for me later....ha ha yes, I am the dishwasher) 7:30 am went to Kernodle's and worked a little early Saturday morning, drove to LR, did a little shopping at the Park Plaza (never been to that mall, loved it!) in LR with Nicole, ate at El Porton (could be spelled wrong), watched a $1 movie, Veggie Tales, drove home, all in one day. Sunday, got up at 5 am, gave the kitchen floor a mop job, vaccumed, washed and dryed 4 loads of clothes, 9AM went to Kernodle's worked that morning till lunch...then went to the Butler's for the dinner...and then went home and SAT DOWN and tried to watch Oprah's Big Give...could not get into it, LOVED the Newlywed reality show!
Tonight I get to watch BRING IT ON, IN IT TO WIN IT. Those of you who do not know...that is the ULTIMATE cheerleading movie! Mary Margaret begins Cheerleading tryouts March 10, whoop whoop! I really should let them have DVD Players in their rooms...I wouldn't have to watch all these CHEER movies! Then I also wouldn't see the girls very much...so...no DVD players
