The Plan

The Plan...
For Type 2 Diabetes
For the next 3 weeks I am to follow a diet plan that Dr. Jacobs recommended. At the end of 3 weeks, I go and give MORE blood and see what the results are then. At that time it will be decided medicine or diet. I check my sugar everyday myself and keep a little log. The sugar has registered everywhere,(at doc ofc 293 on Friday) 153, 101, 188, 193,and 188. Ugh. I should point out that the 101 was yesterday afternoon at 4PM. I had eaten JUST SALAD at lunch. That's it. Last night I ate at 7PM, a hamburger PLAIN and a small salad, I'm talking small and it was 188 this morning. So basically, I should just not eat. (Kidding)

Blood Pressure
The doc added a second medicine. I started it on Saturday. HALLELUJAH AMEN BROTHER its 144/98 this morning. I know the bottom number is way to high, but look at that top number. 2 weeks that top number has been anywhere between 170 and 190, the highest being that ugly 200+. I am to try adding one more of the lisinopril to the mix and see if I can get that bottom number down.

Now, to the funny part. I waltzed into Wal-Mart to buy more strips for the sugar tester thingy, because I've been checking my sugar like a mad woman, 3, 4 times a day. I found the one I needed, twist that stupid little safety knob to make it drop out of the cabinet and low and behold the price was finally visible. $55.99, just for the strips. Seriously. I almost had a heart attack right then and there.
I want a do-over.
I didn't mean to be diabetic.
I take it back.
I did not realize that it cost so much! Taylor was walking beside me, encouraging me to buy not one but you know maybe two or three packs. "You could spend $150 right now if you wanted to" she says excitedly. "Wouldn't that be fun??" NO. On Sunday, grocery shopping, I was a good girl and bought substitute stuff and healthy foods, fruits, etc. My grocery bill doubled. Taylor was just amazed that I spent that kind of money on groceries, she was all OMG, that was fun! She so needs a reality check.

That's it for now. Tonight, if the roads aren't iced over, we travel to West Memphis to watch YARM13YOL play ball. I have ruined YARM13YOL life this week, I can tell, the stare downs I'm getting are AWESOME, and the stomping down the hall is LOUD. I just haven't figured out what I've done yet, I'm betting it will be AWESOME when I find out just what I have done.

I'm a bit confused as to any time I try to eat healthy is costs extra by a lot! If they don't want us fat then lower the price of healthy foods for pete's sake!
