Church and Tadpoles

Let me say this...most of you know where I work...if you don't click on the link "Where I Work"

The following was said by a Old Time Fire Brimstone Baptist Preacher recently where I work...

The subject "Going to Heaven"

"It doesn't matter how many churches you join...and you can be baptized so many times the tadpoles have your social security number, if you are not saved...you will not go to heaven!"

I thought that was kind of funny...but so true!

The End of Upwards Basketball/Cheerleading & Another Relaxing Saturday

Tonight was the "awards" night for Upwards at the Church, Wynne Baptist. The cheerleaders performed their dance, it was pretty good. The basketball teams were all introduced, and there was great entertainment. At one point Mr. (I don't know how to spell his name) "Tooie" asked for some help from the crowd and he picked the preacher, (of Wynne Baptist) Bro. Matt Pearson. I think that the pictures below pretty much explains the trick... the trick....balancing 7 spinning balls....

Earlier today after the girls cheered early this morining with the smaller girls, we drove to Jonesboro and met Dianna, her sister-in-law Karen, Karen's daughter Amber and her baby Dillion for lunch. We ate at "Fat City" I had never been there. It was very reasonable and pretty good. This is a picture of all the girls, l to r: Taylor Butler, Shelby Moore, Mary Margaret Butler and Taylor Witcher. We had a great time with them all.....I love doing girly things like that. Its good to have "good" friends to hang out with.

I think that I'm going to get a little serious...I don't think that I realized until today what kind of person I really am....not tooting my own horn...but I think that I'm a good person. When I was growing up, (my version of what I remember) no one had to worry about the fact that I was going to miss curfew and no one had to worry that I was out drinking or doing drugs. I didn't stay out late....I came home when I was supposed to and never had to have any of those MIND BLOWING ARGUMENTS about the curfews, boys, etc. , that I hear about now from other people. I guess what I am trying to say is that no one kept a thumb on me, I just behaved. I saw an old friend today and it was pitiful, this person led the life of the partier, just very sad, this persons parents did not care or keep a thumb on her and this person took advantage and tried everything possible. There are some parents out there that do not realize their kids are good people...

As an adult, I work hard, I have a nice clean home, I am a Christian and attend church (when my job lets me) and have "fairly" well behaved kids...they all have their moments...I just hope and pray that they both choose the right paths....and keep their "good" friends close. I sincerely hope that they both remember that I am here when they need someone.......

Relaxing Weekend!!!

The new bathroom mirror! It's sooo much bigger than the old one! I hope to have the bathroom completed before Mary Margaret's birthday! Lets see how that works out!

We had a slow relaxing weekend! Upward's basketball Friday night, Saturday was slow...I bought some material at Wal-mart to make new curtains for my windows in the kitchen and for a new table runner. We rented movies, one was Daddy Day Camp...better than what I expected it to be! I rode out to Laughridge Cemetery, where Papaw is, it was really pretty...the care taker was out there and had leveled the graves (Papaw and Tommye's) and the leaves were all cleaned up.

Sunday, we were invited by my Uncle Randall and Aunt Lisa to their church, Ridgewood Baptist in Forrest City (this used to be 2nd Baptist out on Old Madison Road) The service was the first one in their new building on Highway 1. The building is beautiful! This was the first time that I had heard their preacher (not counting funerals he has participated in at the funeral home), It was a very good message on worship...the music was great and we were out of there at 12:oo....wow we are not used to that anymore...Wynne Baptist is around 12:30.........Randall and Lisa's son, Taylor Clark, had an accident this weekend...he was at a bon fire and was burned...2nd degree he said...baseball starts in 3 weeks at CBC in Conway where he goes to College...I know he is upset, his leg might not be ready

Sunday afternoon was dinner at the Butler's and then......Extreme Home Make Over...I think that I spotted Andy one time during the framing... the builder Kevin is the one that Andy contracts with, I was hoping to see Andy more but...oh well. Andy said that the Design Team spent very little time on the site. This morning he told me that their local chanel did a 2 hour special and he was interviewed...they are supposed to send me a copy. The frame work was done in the backyard, they built the entire frames, walls and roofs in 2 days and put the house together in 23 hours. Fast Work....even though we didn't get to see much of Andy, it was fun to watch and know that he had a hand in something good. Made us miss them all.

Here are a few pictures from this weeks game.
Taylor at the Upwards cheerleading...isn't she cute?
Mary Margaret at the Upwards Cheerleading...
This is my nephew Philip Billings...we left at half time during his game, so we did not get to see his team win their first game of the season! By the way...they bought a house in Parkin and will be moving soon!

Feeling Better!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am feeling so much better! This flu kicked butt!

How do I know that I am feeling better? I steam cleaned my carpets Tuesday night. Last night I ripped out the old mirror in the bathroom and, with the help of Tim, installed the BIG new mirror. I'm so excited to not have an off centered mirror! Next to pick a paint color, I will paint before the new flooring goes in! I'm so messy!

Andy and Extreme Homemaker Over

Just wanted to let you all know that Andy's episode of Extreme Home Make Over will be on THIS SUNDAY. I talked to Andy this morning, he called to see if any of the bad weather made it our way! The Kansas Show will air this Sunday. He said that he and the other contractors that were invovled have rented a "room" to have a party and watch the show together. He said that he is also receiving an award that night. Amanda, his wife, promised to take tons of pictures, so as soon as I get them, I'll post them. Me, Mary Margaret and Taylor plan on having our own little Andy party Sunday too. (I think that's a good excuse to throw out the diet and have some good junk food!) I'm excited!

Also, Andy said that they got 4 inches of snow last night while we were weathering the storm!

To update you on my bathroom progress...I ripped up the old floor last night during the storm. I had nothing better to do.
